To preserve the engraved names on the building blocks and bricks of the Olympic Plaza in Calgary (Culture and heritage)

"The 1988 Winter Olympics were an historic event in Alberta and Canada;
The Olympic Plaza was a significant structure in those Games where champions would gather nightly;
Albertans showed their support of the Games through volunteering and attending in record numbers; and
supported the construction of the Plaza, purchasing the structural bricks which created it;"
